East Devon District Council are holding elections in May 2023 – Clyst Hydon have five Parish Councillors so five seats will become available – if more than five nominations are received then an election will be held in the parish. If you wish to stand as a councillor then please ensure that you meet the criteria before requesting nomination papers. All the information you need can be found by clicking on the link shown below. Councillors

Councillors serve a four year term – they are elected or can be co-opted at any time if there are vacancies.  In order to run a parish council effectively we apply to East Devon District Council for a precept.  The Council employ a Clerk who is also the Responsible Financial Officer administering finances in accordance with procedures.The Clerk also provides professional advice and administrative support to ensure that the Parish Council adheres to legal requirements.
